We have a position for an enthusiastic person looking to start a carpentry apprenticeship to work with an experienced builder/carpenter.
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to expand their current skillset and get exposure to all sectors of the carpentry trade. All while working towards and completing your apprenticeship.
Independent Portable Buildings is located on the central coast and specialise in the construction of portable/modular buildings throughout Australia, supplying prefabricated buildings, mobile sales offices, modular medical clinics and permanent modular schools. We maintain a large rental fleet of single-wide and multi-wide buildings including, Ablutions, Change rooms, Kitchens, Stackable Offices, Lunchrooms and complexes.
Task will include Labouring, Framing, internal / external lock up works, fixing as well as all other aspects of carpentry.
Key skills required:
- Current White Construction Card or willingness to obtain
- Own basic tools
- Current driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Great communication skills
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship
- Must pass pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol
- Must be an Australian citizen
- Wiliness to travel
To be the successful applicant for this position you will need to be passionate about carpentry and take pride in your work, you will also need to be a team player who understands the importance of teamwork but also have the ability to work individually and show initiative. Previous site experience is not necessary but looked upon favourably. You will be required to travel to various sites and locations alongside our experienced team of workers.
The position is for immediate start and over award wages apply. (Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010).
